Comment Spammers Are Not Smart People

Over the past 24 hours I have been getting comment spammed like crazy, and there’s been very little I could do about it. My comment-spam-filter mechanism of choice is MT-Blacklist, and it relies on the URLs that the spammers leave in messages to do it’s job. This spammer who has been doing a number on me is not leaving a URL in his message; he’s just leaving a generic, meaningless comment on all of my posts. What’s the point, man? This site doesn’t even get enough traffic to make normal spamming worth the trouble!
Anyways, to “solve” this problem, I turned off all commenting on the site. Bleh.
In related news, I installed WordPress on The Suspects site and I must say that I’m very impressed. (Cue scary foreshadowing music!)
